About the client
The client is a large, multi-entity organization managing procurement, vendor relationships, and financial operations across multiple business units.
Operating at that scale meant every operational change, from a purchase order amendment to a vendor invoice, needed to be tracked through to its financial outcome, consistently, across many teams. The client engaged LevelShift to bring that consistency to its finance and procurement operations on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
Client challenges
Before the engagement, the client’s finance and procurement teams were working hard to compensate for gaps the systems and processes weren’t built to close.
- Limited Visibility into Financial Impact: Purchase order amendments and other operational changes were hard to trace through to their downstream effect on the books.
- Heavy Manual Effort: Vendor invoicing, validation, and reconciliation relied on manual work across finance teams.
- Weak Transaction Traceability: Maintaining a clear line between procurement transactions and finance postings was difficult to sustain.
- Delayed Exception Handling: Discrepancies and operational exceptions often surfaced well after the fact.
- Inconsistent Controls: Approval processes and controls varied from team to team and business unit to business unit.
- Slow Reconciliation and Reporting: Timely, accurate financial reconciliation and reporting was a recurring challenge.
Solution
LevelShift implemented Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations to give the client’s finance and procurement teams a single, connected operating model, then layered Copilot on top to make that data usable in the moment.

- A clearer ability to track and explain the financial impact of operational transactions.
- Standardized processes for consistency across business units and transaction types.
